Overview
You’re invited to Opportunity Marketplace ’26, Done and Doing: Stories of Innovation and Impact, a public forum hosted by the W Booth School within McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering. Designed for members of McMaster and wider communities, the event will highlight selected faculty led initiatives that:
- contribute to communities, industry, public services, or the broader public good;
- bring together expertise across disciplines, units, sectors, or communities;
- translate teaching, research, scholarship, and innovation into practical impact; and
- provide insight into what has been accomplished, what is underway, and where the work is heading next.
Opening speaker
Louis Frapporti
The program will feature a keynote by Louis (Lou) Frapporti, civic leader, community builder and partner at Gowling WLG which offers a glimpse into the life and work of Hamilton change-makers. Lou will speak on “Winning the Future: Universities, Civic Trust and the Common Good”
What to expect
In addition to Louis Frapporti’s keynote, expect 12 lightning talks from faculty members and guests across the University, offering insight into selected initiatives, their impact and their current direction. The talks will explore a broad range of topics, from housing, energy, climate, healthcare and education to AI and beyond. The goal is to encourage informed dialogue and follow-on conversations that may help faculty strengthen partnerships, identify relevant expertise and pathways, and move promising initiatives forward
