Structural Discipline Lead, Hatch

Giuseppe Del Gobbo earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Management at McMaster before completing his PhD at the University of Oxford on a Clarendon Scholarship. During his doctoral studies, he volunteered to be part of the Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team following major earthquakes in central Italy in 2016.

Following his PhD, Giuseppe joined Arup and led his office’s first-ever Climate Lens resilience assessment, developing the associated risk-management framework and guiding methodology. He also served on the Arup EDI committee and led young professional initiatives on behalf of both Arup and the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers. Moving to Hatch and their Niagara Falls office, Giuseppe is the Structural Engineering Discipline Lead. At Hatch, he founded a young professional’s group, serves on the executive leadership team of the Professional Engineers of Ontario Niagara Chapter, and was on the organizing committee of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers Conference, Adapting to Climate, Technology and Growth.
