Registration is now open for McMaster Engineering’s STEM Venture Camps for kids

2 student campers working on a project together

McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering is thrilled to welcome young innovators back to campus for the 35th season of Summer Venture Camps!

Designed to spark curiosity and build confidence, these hands-on programs give students from Grades 2 to 12 the chance to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in a fun and welcoming environment.

Camp programming has been designed and led by passionate undergraduate students from McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering programs. The cohort of camp leaders often include former Venture campers who first discovered their love for STEM at camp and joined the team to inspire the next generation with the same hands-on experiences that sparked their own journeys.

Past participants have described camp as a place to “learn cool stuff and build new things”.

Registration is now open for July and August 2026 camp sessions. Learn more and register at McMaster Engineering Summer Camps

Students in Grades 2-8

For elementary and middle school campers, the Fireball and Flare streams offer a week of engaging activities – from rocketry to  coding challenges and lab visits. Each stream features unique content, so families can register for two different weeks without repeating experiences.

Students in Grades 9-12

High school students can take their learning to the next level with advanced programs like the Engineering Immersive Experience stream, which dives into real lab work and technical skills or as part of the brand-new Engineering Design Studio course, where participants tackle a week-long project from concept to prototype. These programs are perfect for teens eager to explore engineering careers and develop problem-solving skills.

High school students can also join the Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program, gaining volunteer hours, leadership experience and mentorship opportunities while supporting younger campers. Registration is now open for LIT program.
