Seth Dworkin has built a remarkable career advancing clean and sustainable energy solutions. From his early fascination with thermofluids at McMaster as a Mechanical Engineering student to becoming a Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Energy Systems Modeling and Simulation, he has dedicated his work to exploring innovative approaches to renewable energy.

Ross Judd, a longtime professor in McMaster University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, passed away at the age of 89. 

At just 19, iBioMed student Kobe Li is helping expand access to vision care through his nonprofit, 20/20 Mission. His efforts recently earned him national recognition as a recipient of the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award.

A two-year study, developed in collaboration with community members from various sectors, including McMaster University, examines the feasibility of establishing a thermal corridor that could link Hamilton’s Bayfront Industrial Area to buildings along a five kilometre route extending into downtown and beyond.

McMaster Engineering students made an impressive debut at the 2025 Applied Collegiate Exoskeleton (ACE) Competition, showcasing their skills, creativity and teamwork.

At a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the entombment of Canada’s Unknown Soldier in Ottawa, graduating Mechanical Engineering students Shashank Sharma, Thivean Uthayaharan and Ahees Yokkumar proudly carried and presented The Canadian Remembrance Torch — a powerful symbol of gratitude and remembrance that they helped design.

Enedym, a technology start-up company from McMaster University founded by professor Ali Emadi, is developing an electric motor with the same power and reduced noise level as the permanent magnet version, but which uses only electrical steel, copper and iron.

The McMaster University and Mohawk College team was charged up at the Battery Workforce Challenge Final Year Expo in Indiana when they were named first-place winners of the 2024-2025 season. 

It was the HAAMR (High-Altitude Aircraft Mounted Robotic) telescopic mount’s time to shine at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Centre in California, where the air-LUSI mission launched under the late-March moonlight.
