
The Capstone Expo, a highly anticipated event for Faculty of Engineering students, showcases the culmination of their hard work and dedication. Soon-to-be graduates present their team projects, which they have been developing since the fall. These projects are displayed through prototypes, video demonstrations and posters that explain the engineering concepts behind them.
The public is invited to attend this free event on April 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the David Braley Athletic Centre on McMaster’s Hamilton campus.
What to expect:
- 250+ innovative projects and 1000+ students presenting across all engineering departments – Chemical, Civil, Computing and Software, Electrical and Computer, iBioMed, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical, and more.
- Diverse technologies & solutions: From robotics, biomedical devices and sustainable systems, to infrastructure, software and manufacturing solutions, our students are excited to share their hard work come together.
- Multi-format displays: Teams present prototypes, video demos, posters and live explanations of their engineering challenges and solutions.
- Return of the Capzone: a space for alumni, industry and employers to connect.
- Hundreds of attendees coming through the expo to connect with our students!
- Celebrate innovation and reconnect with current faculty, staff and fellow alumni at the Capzone – a networking hub for our alumni, donors and employer partners at the Expo.

The Capstone Expo is held at the David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC) on McMaster’s Hamilton campus. Students’ booths are set up in the Burridge Gym or the Sports Hall.
Upon arrival to DBAC, through the main entrance, locate the Capstone Expo welcome guest table if you have questions about your visit. Additional help desks with volunteers are stationed at both the Burridge Gym and Sports Hall.
Parking is available on campus for a fee. The closest lots to David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC) us the Underground Stadium parking and parking lots E, C, G. Other lots are available should these be full.
- Our gated lots use a ticketing system that allows you to pay for parking at the gate or ticket machine when leaving the lot.
- Our open lots use an online paying system called Honk Mobile. Upon entering an open lot, you can use the Honk mobile app or scan the QR codes around the area to pay for parking on arrival.

Inside the main entrance, there is a elevator to the right of the stairs that will take you down one level to floor that both Burridge Gym and Sports Hall can be accessed.
