McMaster Engineering Community Outreach provides inclusive and accessible barrier-free STEM programming for children and youth from preschool to Grade 12.

Girl initiatives

McMaster Engineering champions the 30 by 30 initiative to increase the number of newly licensed engineers who are women to 30 per cent by the year 2030 and going even further, by working towards gender parity. With the goal of gender diversity, Community Outreach is proud to provide programing that is designed with inclusion and acceptance in mind. Stay tuned for programs and events.

Black youth outreach

Black Outreach STEM Series (BOSS) is an enriching educational program that invites Black Youth to become innovative leaders in STEM. Through the facilitation of culturally relevant engineering workshops, students can celebrate their Black identities and make meaningful connections to STEM education.

Early engineers

Our Early Engineers Program is the first of its kind in Canada. This unique program is delivered through take-home kits, library play kits, professional development for child care providers, and facilitated circle and play time. Our team provides unique experiences to promote inclusivity for all children while impacting the growth and development of toddlers and children in our communities

Indigenous youth outreach

McMaster Engineering Community Outreach strives to provide learning opportunities for Indigenous youth in STEM through workshops, events, and workshops. Our team proudly supports Actua’s National InSTEM Program which supports Indigenous youth in exploring STEM based learning opportunities.

Queering with Engineering

McMaster Community Outreach provides engaging and inclusive STEM activities for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. We undertake this sensitive work in consultation and allyship with one of our student clubs – McMaster EngiQueers. This year, we are celebrating Pride month with our community, by leading Pride clubs, at local elementary and high schools, in culturally relevant hands-on workshops, celebrating diversity.
