Sébastien Mosser has been appointed Acting Associate Dean, Graduate Studies (Engineering), for a six-month term beginning January 1, 2027.

Mosser steps into the role as Kathryn Grandfield takes time away from her administrative responsibilities following her selection for the prestigious Arthur B. McDonald Fellowship.

An Associate Professor in the Department of Computing and Software, Mosser currently serves as Associate Chair and Associate Director of the McMaster Centre for Software Certification (McSCert).

Since joining McMaster in 2022, he has contributed to graduate education, academic leadership and internationally collaborative research. His research focuses on software safety, requirements engineering and software design at scale.

“Sébastien brings valuable experience, a collaborative approach and a strong commitment to our students,” says Heather Sheardown, Dean of Engineering. “I’m confident he’ll do a wonderful job in this role. I also want to thank Kathryn for her outstanding leadership and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.”

Mosser’s appointment runs from January 1 to June 30, 2027.
