Aboutthe Workshop
The SMR Applications Workshop 2025 will explore a wide range of technical topics and real-world applications related to Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
Hosted by the University of New Brunswick and led by the SMART (Small Modular Advanced Reactor Training) program, this workshop is designed to equip students with essential knowledge and tools to thrive in the evolving SMR field.
Participants will benefit from:
- In-depth classroom sessions on SMR design, deployment, and safety
- Soft skills development including project management and science communication
- Networking opportunities with academic and industry leaders
- Field trips and tours, including the grand opening of CNER’s Advanced Nuclear Reactors Laboratory (ANRL)
This workshop is a key part of the SMART CREATE initiative, which is funded by NSERC and designed to enhance career-readiness in Canada’s nuclear sector.
