Overview
Jeff is an innovative cancer researcher with 20+ years experience in the development of novel cancer immunotherapies. For the past 7 years Jeff has been working as a clinical research professional under his own independent consulting venture, CANSWERS. He has successfully helped develop clinical trial programs, support investigational new drug sponsors, and navigate Health Canada regulatory guidance for several internationally recognized cancer researchers and clinicians at McMaster University, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, St. Josephs’ Hospital, and Turnstone Biologics.
Jeff has not only seen his scientific bench work become a reality in the cancer clinic, he’s played a major role in getting it there to help patients! Jeff has grown into a widely skilled Cancer Information Specialist with a lot of experience in collaborative and multi-disciplinary environments. Exceptional communication and leadership skills have built a strong network of relationships with researchers, educators, clinicians, key biotech industry leaders, patients, and students. Jeff is constantly exploring new and pivotal opportunities in emerging Biotechnology and Biomedical cancer spaces.
On a more personal level, striking a balance in life is key for Jeff. He’s just as handy with a hammer doing home DIY projects as he is with cancer cells in the lab. He is a self-proclaimed audiophile, sings and plays the guitar, and has been told repeatedly to have the most eclectic collection of music. Regular contact with a large group of friends from high school, university, work, and home keep Jeff well rounded and grounded. Talk with Jeff and it doesn’t take long to realize his energy and enthusiasm comes from his bond with his family. Outdoor activity and sports are a big part of Jeff’s life and for him, family cottage retreats to the Muskokas and Sauble Beach provide that much needed quality time and relaxation!
