Two students earn the prestigious Governor General’s Academic Medal

Every year, two exceptional McMaster students receive the Governor General’s Academic Medal, one of the most prestigious awards a student can receive in Canada. This year Kristen Abels, of the Faculty of Engineering, was among the two selected.

Finishing high school and starting university is a huge leap for anyone. It can be daunting, especially when it’s hard to see what lies on the other side of the leap. In McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering, students were welcomed through a month-long orientation program starting in August.
