Virtual Go Code Girl- Winter 2022

Saturday January 29, 2022

Go CODE Girl is an exciting free virtual event hosted this January on Zoom for female identifying students in Grades 7 to 10. The event includes the opportunity for mentorship in a Q&A Panel Session with female-identifying undergraduate engineering students, and a hands-on project that introduces concepts of computer science and software engineering.

There are two sessions of this event based on experience with coding. We want to encourage everyone to register, no matter their level of experience with computer science.

Beginner 9:30am to 11:30am EST  - The first session is meant for beginner coders who have little to no previous coding experience. This session will be sure that no previous knowledge of code is required and will teach participants all of the fundamentals.

Intermediate 12:30pm to 2:30pm EST - The second session is designed for intermediate coders who have previous coding experience. This session will still do a brief overview of the fundamentals needed to complete the project, ensuring all coding levels will be able to participate.

All registered participants will be mailed an Event Kit which includes all of the required materials to complete the project. This Kit features a piece of technology that encourages further STEM exploration and lifelong learning! Please only register if you are able to attend the event as space is limited and we want to ensure there are opportunities available for all interested participants.

*Please be aware that we have an inclusive view of the word 'girl'. All-girl clubs welcome non-binary, two-spirit, trans, genderqueer and any other youth that identify with these programs.
