Return to Campus (COVID-19)

McMaster University is following the guidance of the province and local health officials in determining if and when different groups may return to campus.

Task Force

The Faculty of Engineering is leading a Return to Work Campus Task Force to discuss protocols, standards, safety, communication, and other related matters as we consider returning to campus, when we are permitted to do so.

Nancy Balfoort, Task Force Lead

Nancy is responsible for the business affairs of the Faculty. She develops financial information for the preparation of the yearly budget, monitors the business accounts of the Faculty, and ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to each department. She provides administrative continuity, enabling the Faculty to maintain it’s day-to-day operations. Nancy is a graduate of McMaster with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. Prior to joining the Faculty, she held the role of Director of Administration for the Department of Pathology & Molecular Medicine.

MacSafe Web & Mobile App for Research Groups

As an additional resource to help supervisors to manage the safe return of their research groups, the University is developing MacSafe, a web-based and mobile app that will allow each research group to individually manage their group’s access to campus in keeping with the University’s policies and guidelines.

Supervisors will be able to register their research labs/spaces and members of each research team will be able to use to the app to check in and out from their spaces and can log their time on campus, to help maintain clear communication between supervisors and team members and to help ensure safe physical distance is observed in accordance with their group's individual SOPs.
