Hoda Kamel joined the W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology as an Assistant Professor in July 2021, teaching a variety of Bachelor of Technology Program (BTech) courses in both the 4-year program and Degree Completion program. Prior to this, Hoda was a Sessional Faculty since 2014.  She taught Professional Workplace Practices, Entrepreneurship, Fundamentals of Marketing and Human Resources courses for the BTech 4-year undergraduate program.

Hoda has developed and taught various management courses in the undergraduate and Degree Completion Program including Fundamentals of Marketing, Human Resources, and Management Principles.

Before and during her time as Sessional Faculty in McMaster University, Hoda owned a Training and Development company after a career of over 15 years as a Product Manager and Marketing professional in various High-Tech companies.  

Hoda is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario and is also a True Colors® Elite Certified Facilitator with a decade of experience running development workshops and corporate training and teambuilding events.

Hoda Kamel is an Assistant Professor and Lecturer of Management and Marketing in the W. Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology. Hoda is also a Facilitator, and experienced practitioner in the field of Corporate Team Development and Culture.

Hoda completed her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Kuwait, has a MASc from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. Hoda is also a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario.

Hoda received her certification in presenting and facilitating True Colors® Personal Success Seminars, Keys to Successful Team Building, and True Core Leadership. Hoda has also completed development studies in Pragmatic Marketing with a focus on “Practical Product Management and Writing Requirements.”

Hoda has led a successful career as a Marketing professional and Product Manager for multiple semi-conductor companies and hearing instrument manufacturers. In her roles, Hoda led and championed key technical projects from the idea-phase through to consumer launch. Hoda also spent four years as a part-time faculty member at the McKeil School of Business, Mohawk College, where she taught various marketing and business courses.

When teaching and running workshops, Hoda’s philosophy hinges on all participants being active partners in the learning process. By sharing the learning responsibility, participants become engaged in their learning experience, and ultimately, the participants derive maximum benefit from the training.

Hoda has a passion for helping women and children through her support of organizations like YWCA Hamilton which has a mission of assisting individuals through health and wellness programs for women, families, and people with special needs.
