Event updates for McMaster Engineering communityMarch 13, 2020

This list of cancelled events will be updated as new information arises

In light of McMaster University’s monitoring and response to the COVID-19 developments in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, events on campus and beyond are being cancelled

Those events that are not core to the university’s academic mission and operations will be cancelled until at least the end of April.

This includes:

  • University and student-organized events both on and off campus (fundraisers, intramurals, performances, etc.)
  • Events at McMaster that are booked and hosted by outside organizations (tournaments, conferences, public speakers, etc.)
  • Some of the events being cancelled include: March Break tours, March Break camps and public lectures and presentations that are not part of an academic program

Below is a list of cancelled McMaster Engineering events as of Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m.:

  1. FIRST Robotics Canada District Competition @ McMaster (April 3-5)

  2.  March Break Day in the Life events and campus tours (effective March 13 until further notice)

  3. Big Ideas Workshops for undergrad semi-finalists (March 13, 20)

  4. Postponed or moved online (TBD): Big Ideas Competition for undergrad semi-finalists (March 25)

  5. Postponed: Big Ideas with Impact Gala (May 7)

  6. Co-op Career Fair (March 19)

  7. Kipling ring ceremony (March 27)

  8. Capstone/final project showcases (Eng, iBioMed, MacChangers)

  9. Paws n Play therapy dog visits (March 26)

  10. Yoga in JHE (March 18, 25)
