Business, Meet McMaster Enginering. Our focus is on educating emerging engineering leaders who have the technical know-how, innovative thinking, communications and business skills necessary to implement big ideas within a company or by starting a new one. 

We offer innovative programming, both inside and outside the classroom, to inspire our students, setting them on the path to becoming tomorrow's groundbreaking thought leaders and innovators.  

We have a special partnership with DECA, including 10 scholarships valued at $15,000 for DECA alumni worldwide and sponsorship of competitions in Ontario and beyond.

DECA, Meet McMaster Engineering in Orlando

We are the only Canadian engineering school at DECA's International Career Development Conference in Orlando from April 27-30.

McMaster Engineering is home to DECA alumni

McMaster Engineering has an exciting partnership with DECA Ontario. Through conferences and competitions, DECA instills professionalism and prepares high school students to respond to authentic business cases and market demands.

Aside from scholarships, we also sponsored the GRIT Tank Competition at the Provincial competition in 2019.

Whether it's through our brand new Minor in Innovation, longstanding Engineering & Management program, one of a kind Bachelor of Technology program, or innovative Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences program, the options to study both engineering & business are widespread.

Engineering & Management

This prestigious 5-year program is designed to provide engineering students with a deeper understanding of business, project management, and leadership skills needed to thrive in a corporate or entrepreneurial environment.

Graduates can qualify for an accelerated MBA at McMaster!

Bachelor of Technology

25% of the courses in the Bachelor of Technology programs are on management and busines topics. Students graduate with a Business Management certificate from Mohawk College. 

Students can gain advanced credit towards a Master of Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Minor in Innovation

The new Minor in Innovation is offered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering & DeGroote School of Business, in parthership with The Forge. 7-8 courses are required to complete the minor, including: 

  • From Founder to CEO
  • Sprint Methodologies
  • Persuasion, Pitching Skills, & Marketing

iBioMed

Students in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences program complete a series of project-based design courses intended to develop their working knowledge of contemporary issues related to society, ethics, and professionalism while developing biomedical engineering solutions to real-world healthcare problems.
