Equity and Inclusion Facilitator Training

In an effort to ensure that equity and inclusion issues remain a central consideration in decision making at all levels within the Faculty of Engineering, the role of Equity and Inclusion Facilitator has been introduced to all Faculty standing and operating committees for the 2018-2019 academic year. Each department has also identified an Equity and Inclusion Facilitator for a minimum of three committees.

Dr. Kim Jones, Chair, Ontario Network of Women in Engineering (ONWiE) and Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering

Learning Objectives:

    • To differentiate between diversity, inclusion and equity
    • To discuss the campus context and emerging issues
    • To increase awareness of educational opportunities and supportive resources
    • To engage in conversations related to diversity, equity and inclusion as part of a continuous learning journey

Who should attend?  All faculty and staff are welcome to attend, however, individuals who have been appointed to serve as an Equity and Inclusion Facilitator on a departmental or Faculty committee during the 2018-19 academic year will be given priority.
