Computing Resources at McMaster University

SHARCNET was implemented to improve high performance computing programs and services in Canada through a joint grant application, involving a number of institutions in Southwestern Ontario.  Its key objective has been to build an "HPC culture" in Ontario and Canada: a community of skilled researchers who would support the growing demands in academia and the private sector for HPC and would generate the critical mass of users to ensure long-term support/provisions of leading hardware resources.  SHARCNET aimed to directly target researchers with large problems which could not otherwise be contemplated.

Facilitator:  Dr. Ranil Sonnadara, Special Advisor to the Vice-President, Research

A light lunch will be provided.

Who should attend? All faculty who are interested in learning more about SHARCNET and accessing the machine learning server.
