Overview

Dr. Salaudeen’s research focuses on developing green processes and technologies for the efficient conversion of low-value biomass and waste into high-value products. His research generates high-value products including renewable hydrogen, biocarbon, fuels, syngas, biomaterials, and chemicals of industrial importance. His research interests include:

  • Biomass and waste conversion to high-value products
  • Upcycling of plastic waste
  • Renewable and sustainable energy technologies
  • Carbon capture and utilization
  • Decarbonization of high carbon footprint industries
  • Life cycle assessment and technoeconomic analysis

Biography

Dr. Salaudeen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McMaster University. He received his PhD degree from the University of Guelph in 2020 where he was also a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2020 – 2021. Prior to joining McMaster University, he was an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering at the University of Prince Edward Island.
