My research program spans the areas of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal biomechanics, gait analysis, and biomechanical and statistical modeling.
Other research areas of interest include exploring the natural variability in coordination strategies with healthy movement mechanics, specifically during walking and running gait, and how factors such as aging, sex and obesity can influence gait mechanics. Understanding deviations in healthy mechanics due to risk factors provides the framework for pre-pathology models. I also have an interest in understanding musculoskeletal injury mechanisms, and have been involved in research on barefoot running mechanics, as well as research into anterior cruciate ligament injury.
