Overview

The Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University would like to offer you an opportunity to further support the success of our students. We have started a new initiative in the Faculty of Engineering to develop a face-to-face mentoring program between current students and our alumni – Fireball Chats with Alumni.

Fireball Chats with Alumni give the McMaster Engineering community the opportunity to chat to a small group of students and share their personal experiences as an engineer in the workforce. Our hope is that each month we can offer our students a chance to have a casual conversation with engineers during which they can ask for advice, help, or insight.

REASONS TO ATTEND:

Get Help – Get coached by experienced engineers!
Ask Questions – Receive answers to all your questions about life, university, co-op choices and more!
Convenience – Connect with alumni on campus!
Fun – A chance to win a mac eng prize pack!

MENTORS FOR OCTOBER:

Sean Mercer, BEngBioSci '15 (Chemical Engineering)

Sean graduated from Chemical and Bioengineering (co-op) in 2015. He started with General Electric, in the Water and Process Technologies division, which has now become a part of SUEZ Water Technologies and Solutions. Sean spent most of his time travelling to customer sites to start-up or upgrade water and wastewater treatment facilities. In 2020, Sean moved to Vancouver where he now attends the University of British Columbia, completing a Master of Engineering Leadership degree specializing in Integrated Water Management. Sean enjoys being physically active and outside and aims to find work that helps support healthy people and a healthy planet.
