Current and future applicants are welcome to attend the event.
Agenda
Please be aware that there are no scheduled presentations or activities on these days. Each time slot is 2 hours to allow for time for you to connect in a casual setting with our faculty, staff, and ambassadors, take a tour with our student tour guides, and explore MacEng.
How to make the most of your time with us during your visit:
- Ask your questions in-person to our student ambassadors about all things MacEng. The ambassadors are excited to share information about their programs and MacEng experiences such as co-op, research, extra-curricular involvement, etc.
- Connect with faculty and staff about the programs and support services available.
- Take a MacEng Tour* (approx. 45minutes-1hour in length) with our student tour guides. These are walking tours so please inform your tour guide if you require any accommodation considerations.
- Spin the wheel to win some MacEng swag to start building your collection!
- Explore the rest of campus on your own, but be warned, you may fall in love with it quickly!
- Please refer to the FAQs found on the “Arriving to Campus” below for details regarding the event location and parking.
MacEng Tours
Due to the limited availability of our tour guides, and to ensure an enjoyable experience for our guests, there is a capacity on each departing tour. Tours will be on a first-come, first-serve basis departing every 15 minutes. The last tour departs an hour before your time slot ends.
If you do not want to join a tour, or the tours have departed, you are welcome to request a DIY MacEng Tour (map and facts) for you to explore MacEng facilities on your own.
Please be aware that MacEng Tours are not a full campus tour and will only be going over the Faculty of Engineering dedicated areas of McMaster’s campus. For more information to join a general campus tour, please check here.

- Where is this event taking place?
The address of McMaster University is: 1280 Main St W, Hamilton, ON L8S 4L8. Our mini open house is happening inside the John Hodgins Engineering (JHE) Building, please follow the signs inside JHE! We recommend entering the building from the main entrances of JHE or GHC (Gerald Hatch Centre) that are facing the field side. Please refer to this map for which buildings are which (JHE is number 16!)
- Where can I park?
There are various parking areas on the McMaster campus, please refer to this map. However, our event will be set up in the JHE building, the closest parking lot we recommend is Lot I (i not 1).Please be mindful of traffic signs while on campus as some streets are only allowed to be used by city buses and campus services.
