We would like to give you the opportunity to chat with two McMaster Engineering alumni every month about their experiences as Engineers at McMaster University and in the workforce!

Our topic of discussion for March will be: What does diversity and inclusion in the workplace look like?

Fireball Chats with Alumni give the McMaster Engineering community the opportunity to further support the success of our students. A small group of students will meet with knowledgeable McMaster Engineering alumni who are willing to share their experiences as an Engineer at McMaster University and in the workplace. Our hope is that each month we can offer our students a chance to have a casual conversation with Engineers during which they can ask for advice, help, or insight.

“I loved hearing about the alumni's background and what helped them get to where they are today. Hearing about their career path helps me as I plan mine.”

 – Scott Semotiuk, 2018

“I enjoyed how it was a smaller group.  This made asking questions easier and less intimidating.  I also loved the positivity of the Alumni.  They were able to answer all questions to a high degree of quality.  It was helpful to hear from two different Alumni and the different paths they took to reach the position they are in now.  They showed that no two paths are the same and that there is no distinct way to reaching success.  Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the event!”

– Pasquale Frappa, 2018

“I liked that the group was small and it was much more personal. I wouldn’t go over 10 students per chat. I thought the speakers were very good. They answered all the questions given and gave great feedback. I believe this event was a success and should be repeated.”

– Benoit Le Maitre, 2018

“It cleared up a lot of misconceptions and doubts that I had concerning work and post-uni life.”

 – Yusra Rao, 2018
