Eng Phys students win at the Ontario Engineering Competition!February 13, 2018

Congratulations goes out to our students Cam Bignell, Leanne Dias, Mitchell Kurnell, and Devan Wagner!

This year, one of the Engineering Physics 4A06 capstone teams recently placed 2nd in Ontario at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC) in the Innovative Design category for their capstone project!

The project is called OOMI, a machine that automatically detects your finger nail, paints it with gel nail polish, and cures it with UV light. To reduce the health issues and increase customer throughput in the nail service industry, OOMI automates the process of gel manicures. Using image processing and precise motor control, OOMI is able to accurately paint and cure your nails.

Our Eng Phys students won $1,000 and a spot to compete at the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) in March!
