Broadband, Far-infrared, and THz Cameras and Applications.

Abstract:

Starting from early work with VOx power limiting films and optical MEMS, INO became one of few technology centres worldwide to develop uncooled bolometric imaging technologies. INO’s focus is on imagers addressing niche requirements outside of the standard LWIR (8-12 micron wavelength), where commercial players such as INO licensee Teledyne DALSA provide COTS solutions. After a brief review of the technology, we will present examples of fielded multi-spectral, broadband, far-infrared, and THz imaging systems. 

Biography:

Tim Pope’s technical work at INO has focused on the design, fabrication, and testing of uncooled thermal sensors, focal plane arrays, cameras, and systems. Tim currently works with INO’s Ontario partners in establishing projects covering the full spectrum of INO technologies.
