DECA, did you meet McMaster Engineering in Orlando?
We were the only Canadian engineering school to support DECA's International Career Development Conference in Orlando from April 27-30. Check out this recap of our visit.
Are you a DECA participant?

McMaster Engineering is home to DECA alumni
McMaster Engineering has an exciting partnership with DECA Ontario. Through conferences and competitions, DECA instills professionalism and prepares high school students to respond to authentic business cases and market demands.
Aside from scholarships, we also sponsored the GRIT Tank Competition at the Provincial competition in 2019.

Maanav Dalal (Engineering 1)
Meeting DECA alumni has helped me settle into university better and continue my extracurricular involvement, as McMaster also has a DECA team. I have been fortunate to make friends in every corner of the world and in terms of university that means wherever I am, I'll have friends beside me.
Carmen Bracho, BEng Mgt '19
Mechanical Engineering & Management | Advisory Analyst at Hatch
Saad Baig (Engineering 1)
Here, I can go from designing and innovating solutions for real world problems, to leading and networking with some of the brightest minds around, to enriching my learning by participating in design teams and other diverse extracurriculars. The best part about it all, is that I'm surrounded by my McMaster family, working towards a Brighter World.
Zalak Naik (Engineering 1)
DECA is the place where I discovered my passion for learning about entrepreneurship and the different levels of Business we surround ourselves with. DECA not only gave me the opportunity to discover my keen interest in Business, but also helped me channel myself in a professional setting.
Shaun Lee (Engineering 1)
I was in charge of social media outreach for DECA in Malaysia. DECA was new to my school and we organized the first-ever DECA conference in South East Asia. That clearly taught me about managing and collaborating with a team to ensure the success of the event.
Juliana Onesi (Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering)
In addition to learning about business, I also had the chance to contact individuals who worked at real companies in my community, and devise strategies to improve customer or employee relations. For me, these experiences were applicable to iBioMed, since we base some of our design projects off of real clients in need of working solutions
Aasir Siddiqui (Automotive & Vehicle Engineering Technology)
Overall the main skills I gained from DECA were, public speaking skills, along with the ability to formulate a well thought out answer in the moment that it was asked.
Abeera Islam (Chemical Engineering)
McMaster was my first choice for engineering; the school environment is great because it focuses on academics, extracurricular, and social life. The engineering program allows the students to explore a variety of subjects before choosing their stream and I really liked that
