Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to volunteer to assist at any of these activities, please contact Kelly ( / ITB-A111).

Fall Preview:  Highschool students and their families are invited to campus to learn more about the degrees offered here.  The Faculty of Engineering showcases all departments in the JHE Lobby on 2 Saturdays each Fall (one usually late October, the other in mid November).  Two or three faculty members and two or three current students work 2-3 hour shifts, greeting prospective students and providing them with information about our programs.

Level One Information Fair - all Engineering departments are represented at booths with the goal to inform Level 1 students of their program choices; usually held in ETB; held on a weekday; mainly represented by faculty members, a few upper level students are needed to provide information, working a 1 or 2 hour shift.

ECE Department Information Session - for Level 1 students to come find out about our programs and department; current ECE Undergrad students are needed to provide information enthusiastically to prospective students.  Clubs and teams that our students are involved in are also represented to show prospective students the non-academic side of ECE.  This session is held one evening in March or late February.

May @ Mac - McMaster University Open House - this exciting event draws thousands of prospective students and their families to campus to find out more about McMaster itself and what we offer; held on a Saturday in early May each year; faculty members and student groups and current ECE students represent the department; we need students to work a shift of at least 2 hours (lunch and refreshments are provided).
