Hands-on training workshop presented by Texas Instruments! 

What is it all about?

This unique Texas Instruments training event is open to everyone! Get training & hands-on experience with the latest developments in technology from TI, the world's leader in electronic chips.

Everyone is welcome to register in this event.  Upper year undergrad students in Electrical & Computer & Biomedical Engineering will find these training workshops very beneficial, particularly for the final year design project in capstone courses Elec Eng 4OI6 & 4BI6.

Each participant must bring their own laptop. We will provide participants with the software that is to be downloaded prior to the event.

All students will be participating in the complete set of sessions.

Space is limited, so register early!

What is being taught?

All participants follow the same schedule:

  • Session 1: Fundamentals of Micro Controllers
  • Session 2: Integration of Motors
  • Session 3: Integration of Sensors
  • Session 4: Integration of Wireless Connectivity


When is it?

Date: Saturday September 16, 2017

Time: 9:00am to 4:00 pm  (registration begins at 8:30am)

Where is it?

BSB-119 (Burke Science Building), at the main campus of McMaster University (1280 Main Street West, Hamilton L8S 4K1).

The Burke Science Building (BSB) is straight ahead at the end of the Sterling Street entrance (by Parking Lots A & B).

Parking is a Flate Rate of $8.  Detailed information:

If coming by car via Highway 403: Exit Hwy 403 at Aberdeen Ave - the first set of traffic lights is Longwood Road, turn left, then turn left at the second traffic lights (onto Main St. West). Go along Main Street several blocks, following the signs to the hospital (McMaster Medical Centre). Turning right into the McMaster property, follow the little road straight to wind around the hospital. At Sterling Street turn left into campus. Go straight to find Parking Lot "A" on your left. If that is full, go back slightly and turn left to Lot "B".

Registration is limited, so register early!

 $30 registration fee (includes HST)

Included in your registration fee: a full day of hands-on training; a Micro Controller kit; access to TI's online support centre; and refreshments at morning and afternoon breaks.

You have the option of a catered buffet lunch for an additional fee of $15. If you would like to have this lunch, please order it when you are registering for the event.
