Department Events and Activities

Events put on by the department and student groups for you to join!  Watch for emails that will provide the details, and posts on Facebook (@ecemcmaster).

September - during the first week of classes:  ECE Welcome BBQ - all ECE undergrads are invited to attend, free tickets available before the event.

October: Meet The Profs event - put on by student group "Electrical & Computer Engineering Society" (ECES)

October & November: Fall Preview, an Engineering faculty-wide recruitment event for highschool students, held on 2 Saturdays

 January: Industry Night - put on by student group "Electrical & Computer Engineering Society" (ECES)

 Feburary:  Level 1 Info Fair - all Level 1 Engineering and IBEHS students are welcome to find out about all the departments in Engineering

February: Heart-board soldering workshop - put on by the IEEE Student Branch at McMaster

February: KiCad workshop - put on by the IEEE Student Branch

February: McMaster Programming Challenge  - put on by the IEEE Student Branch

March: Raspberry Pi workshop - put on by the IEEE Student Branch

March: Kipling Breakfast for graduating students - put on by student group "Electrical & Computer Engineering Society" (ECES)

March/April: ECE Department Information Session for Level 1 students - an opportunity for current Level 1 students to talk to professors and students about the programs in our department, see a presentation on the programs, and see the student groups associated with the department.

April (last day of classes):  ECE Expo - Everyone is welcome to drop in and see what can be achieved in our programs!  A showcase of capstone projects designed and developed by groups of students in the final year of their degree.  Details on  eng.mcmaster.ca/ece/ece_expo .

 May: May @ Mac  - an Open House for the whole of McMaster University.  Held on a Saturday in mid-May, highschool students and their famililes are welcome to come see the campus and find out about what we offer.  All Departments within the Faculty of Engineering are represented in the JHE lobby (ECE professors and current students are eager to tell potential students how great our department is!).
