The Department of Civil Engineering would like to congratulate May Haggag on her 3rd place win at the Engineering Mechanics Institute’s Student Paper Competition, held May 29 - June 1, 2018

Congratulations to Ms. May Haggag, PhD student in the Department of Civil Engineering and recipient of the 3rd place award in the ASCE-EMI Objective Resilience Student Competition for her paper titled “Machine Learning for City Resilience Assessment”. The competition took place during the ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology May 29th-June 1st, 2018. An Ontario Trillium Award recipient, May works in the INViSiONLab, under the supervision of Dr. Wael El-Dakhakhni, on developing data analytics approaches to model city critical infrastructure networks’ intra- and interdependence under systemic risks.
