Fengyan (Helen) Wang is a PhD candidate from Dr. Pelton's group giving a talk on her research.

In modern agriculture, pesticide formulations are widely used to control pests or weeds or enhance production yield. They are usually delivered to plants via foliar spray application. However, various losses, such as spray drift, run-off and wash-off, occur to reduce effectiveness and pose risks to the environment and human health. The overall objectives of the project are to analyze and understand the interfacial behaviors of pesticide formulations and design desirable adjuvants based on the requirements. We examined the factors affecting spray deposits, adsorption behaviors and rainfastness performance and tried to uncover the underlying mechanisms that will provide new understanding to the industry.
