Front Row Ventures is the first national Canadian university-focused VC fund. We believe that Canada’s next big startups are being dreamed up in labs, classrooms, and dorm rooms. Built by students, for students; we think the best people to find Canada’s most promising student founders are the people sitting next to them in the classroom.

Converting your technology into a business can be daunting task for anyone, but especially students, who may not have a clear path defined for them. Front Row Ventures is Canada's first student-run VC fund. Having invested in 12+ companies ($300 000+) across Ontario and Quebec, in various markets from AdTech & SpaceTech, to Automation & Healthcare Technologies, FRV has positioned itself as an expert in helping students raise funds for their businesses. This seminar, presented by Cameron Macdonald, Director of Impact Teams at FRV, will focus on the fundamentals of raising equity and non-equity funds, as well as the challenges (and solutions!) facing students on their journey from technology to business.

Cameron is in his third year of a Biomedical and Chemical Engineering degree at McMaster University. He has a background in medical research and is working hard to translate that unique perspective to the startups that he works with. Cameron has a passion for health technology and student entrepreneurship.
