We have completed our toboggan and competed in GNCTR 2012! Thanks to our members and our sponsors!


(February 1, 2012):

  • The toboggan has been completed and we are heading to the competition on February 8th, 2012!

Brake/Superstructure Meeting (Dec. 1, 2011):

  • Began cutting for the toboggan

Brake/Superstructure Meeting (November 23, 2011):

  • Prepared drawings

(November 23, 2011):

  • Poured the slabs for our toboggan!

General Meeting (November 16, 2011):

  • Discussed what still needs to be done

(November 12, 2011):

  • Built some forms for the toboggan

Compression Testing (November 11, 2011):

  • Performed 28-day compression tests and flexural strength tests on the last samples

Superstructure/Brake/Steering Meeting (Nov. 5, 2011):

  • Calculated correct dimensions, forces and stresses

Superstructure Meeting (October 22, 2011):

  • Finalized our design

Brake & Theme Meetings (October 18, 2011):

  • Brake:
    • Finalized forces acting on the toboggan
    • Analyzed stresses acting on the toboggan
    • Determined the pieces of aluminum we will need
  • Theme:
    • Discussed Tech Ex and costumes

First concrete test pouring (October 14, 2011)

General Meeting (October 4, 2011):

  • Discussion topics:

    • Concrete Mix design ready for test-pouring later in the week
    • Technical Sub-captain Design brain-storming session

  • Organized a bottle drive to raise money for our team

  • Voted for this year's theme: Mac MD
  • Discussed/brainstormed ideas for implementing our theme

  • Voted on a few possible themes
