to Support Eco-Entrepreneurship
A class of engineering graduates from 1962 has banded together to donate $3,043,000
to support entrepreneurs developing and bringing sustainable technologies to

HATCH Scholarship Recipients Look Forward to Start of Term
Each year, four, $48,000 scholarships are awarded to students starting first-year
engineering who best demonstrate strong leadership attributes and academic
achievement. This is the second year the scholarships have been awarded
and are the largest offered by the Faculty of Engineering. HATCH is a global
engineering consulting firm headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario.

Prof. McDermid is the NSERC/US Steel Canada/Xstrata Zinc Industrial
Research Chair in Zinc-Coated Advanced Steels. His job is to provide corrosion
protection for advanced steels that are being made to lightweight the next
