The First Year Cornerstone Project (dissection and modelling)

Students are provided a project framework as a recent hire of company XYZ Tools. Their first assignment as a new employee was to evaluate and conceptualize a competitor’s product. Teams are required to use SolidEdge CAE software for model design, benchmark the product, and create a technical report with a complete set of engineering drawings based upon their dissection of the product. Judging is based on the teams acquired skills, using SolidEdge for the modelling, assembly, and engineering drawings of the product.

Congratulations to 1st Place team McMaster students, Matthew Balyk, Morgan Cunningham, and Jaclyn Obemeyer for their great Spray Gun product design. Not only did they win the first McMaster PACE Competition, their team went on to the national team competition at the 2008 UGS Connection Americas Conference in Orlando, Florida in June and took 3rd place for their design - Great Job!
