A Picture-Perfect Holiday Season

December 16, 2010

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than by reminiscing over a few favourite photos.  Or, in the case of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a few dozen favourite photos, shaped into the Engineering Fireball, and, capped off with an elf cap.

That was the winning combination for the Faculty of Engineering's first-ever Festive Photo Contest.  Dozens of tiny images squeezed into elf costumes, Santa's caps, standing around dining tables, and surrounded by holiday decorations, past and present, was selected as the winning photo by the McMaster Engineering Society. MES president Kyle Heywood announced the winning entries at the Faculty Christmas Open House on December 15.

Second place went to the Associate Dean's Office (Academic) for their Christmas Carol photo.  Staff serenaded the photographer, and a winsome Christmas tree, with Deck the Halls while having their picture taken in front of the John Hodgins Engineering Building.

In third place was the Department of Engineering Physics.  They donned Christmas Hard Hats to greet Santa, and to ward off any stray gifts that might fall from his sleigh as he dashes round the world Christmas-eve visiting all the good little boys and girls.

For their efforts, ECE receives a morning-break treat compliments of the Dean's Office.

And here's a look at the other photo entries from across the Faculty.

A very groovy holiday to all.
