February 4, 2010
Nafisa Kanji, a fifth-year chemical & bioengineering student, took first place in the Engineering Communication category at the 2010 Ontario Engineering Competition on January 30. Her topic was Tissue Engineering of Blood Vessels.
The win qualifies Nafisa to move on the Canadian Engineering Competition, which is being hosted by the University of Toronto this year from March 18 to 21.
Nafisa was one of 15 McMaster engineering students who qualified to compete in this year’s Ontario competition held January 29 to 31 at the University of Waterloo. McMaster also had competitors entered in junior design, senior design, consulting engineering, and parliamentary debate.
The Ontario Engineering Competition is an annual event that challenges university engineering students from across the province to a series of competitions. More than 200 competitors from 14 universities participate.
