May 25, 2009
McMaster is prominently featured in a supplement prepared by Canada's photonics industry and published in the May 25 issue of The Globe and Mail. The supplement looks at many of the breakthroughs occurring in the photonics field and how they are or will be impacting our lives.
An article by Peter Mascher, associate dean of research and external relations for the Faculty, discusses some leading-edge applications of photonics and optical technologies that we use daily and will be using in the future.
Rafael Kleiman, John Preston and Ray LaPierre, professors of engineering physics, are referenced in an article discussing photonics and solar cell development.
Engineering physics professor Qiyin Fang's efforts to apply optical technologies in the medical field are featured in a third article.
An advertisement promoting graduate study in engineering physics at McMaster is also included in the supplement.
