The Cambridge Phenomenon: Commercializing Technology

Alan Barrell, university professor and chairman and director of a number of early stage companies, will be speaking at McMaster on Tuesday, October 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in ETB-535. His talk is titled: The ‘Cambridge Phenomenon’: How to maximize the impact of technology commercialization.
Prof. Barrell will share his views on how the commercialization of ideas and technologies developed in a university environment could be more successful. Prof. Barrell is considered one of the most important and prolific gurus of entrepreneurship in Europe. He is a professor at Judge Business School (University of Cambridge, UK), Ashcroft International Business School (Anglia Ruskin University, UK), Bedfordshire University (UK), Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Hosei University (Japan), and Xiamen University (China). He was presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and holds Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts and a Doctoral degree in Business Administration.
The event is being hosted by the Xerox Centre for Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the McMaster Industry Liaison Office.
