Biomedical Engineering Open House

Astronaut Dave Williams speaks about the growing field at 1:30 p.m.

February 2, 2009

If you are interested in learning more about biomedical engineering, you may want to stop by the Open House on March 3 being hosted by the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Association with support from the McMaster School of Biomedical Engineering.

The Open House runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the McMaster University Student Centre atrium.

Canadian astronaut Dave Williams will speak at 1:30 p.m. about the future of biomedical engineering and how his research in medical robotics ties into this growing field.  Dr. Williams was recently appointed director for the new McMaster Centre for Medical Robotics at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and professor in the Department of Surgery at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.

Graduate students in the biomedical engineering program will also be presenting posters showcasing their research work in areas such as biomaterials and tissue engineering, biomechanics, biomedical imaging, biophotonics, bioprocessing and medical robotics.

It's a great opportunity to get information about pursuing graduate studies in the field.
