Eng & Management Students Co-Chair Marketing Competition
January 28, 2008
Jocelyne Moyer and Daniel Borrelli, both fifth-year mechanical engineering and management students, are co-chairs of this year's MARS Apprentice competition organized through the DeGroote School of Business.
MARS Apprentice is an innovative undergraduate marketing competition that pits two teams of undergraduate students battling head-to-head to solve real business cases provided by industry partners. Winning students receive full-time paid internships at sponsor companies.
The first of this year's competitions kicked off on January 20 with a challenge from JAN Kelley Marketing to develop an integrated 12 month marketing and communications plan for one of their clients, USC Education Savings Plans Inc. For the next six weeks, 12 undergraduate commerce students will also be completing challenges from BlackBerry and Rogers Communications, RBC Royal Bank, Frito Lay and Canadian Tire Financial Services.
Apprentice sponsors include Frito Lay, RBC Royal Bank, JAN Kelley Marketing, Canadian Tire Financial Services, Research in Motion, Rogers, Xerox, Epiphany Coaching, and TEKsystems. Maple Leaf Foods sponsored the opening ceremonies event.
