McMaster Engineering Programs Ranked With World's Best

McMaster programs placed among the top 200 worldwide in the first-ever ranking of engineering and technology programs by QS World University Rankings. McMaster engineering programs also consistently placed among the top eight in Canada.

For 2011, QS World University Rankings ranked programs in chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical and electronic engineering, and mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering.

Among McMaster programs, computer science and chemical engineering ranked in the top 100,
civil engineering and electrical and electronic engineering in the top 150, and mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering in the top 200.

McMaster was one of only eight Canadian universities to be ranked in all five categories. Another nine Canadian universities were ranked in one or two categories.

Among Candian universities, McMaster was ranked fourth in chemical engineering, fifth in computer science, sixth in electrical and electronic engineering, seventh in mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering, and eighth in civil engineering.

 

McMaster's Faculty of Engineering is the sixth highest ranked engineering school in Canada of the 12 to make the rankings.

There are more than 40 universities in Canada that offer engineering programs.

McMaster's Faculty of Engineering was ranked 127th among more than 300 engineering schools worldwide listed in the 2010 QS University World Rankings. It is the sixth highest ranked engineering school in Canada of the 12 to make the rankings.

QS World University Rankings are based on employer reputation, academic reputation and research quality.
