BENG 1985 – Mechanical Engineering
MBS – Biomaterials

Currently Working – worked for many years in Biomedical Engineering (Clinical Engineering in hospitals) but currently inspiring young students in Science through "Scientists in School" workshops in primary schools.

I chose Engineering because it offered me a professional degree using my strengths in Math and Science.  I was also interested in all things medical and Biomedical; Engineering seemed to be the perfect blend of sciences for me.  McMaster attracted me because of the Biomed courses offered within Engineering; the beautiful, contained campus; and the proximity of the Medical School (just in case I decided to pursue Medicine later!). I ended up doing a Masters degree in Biomaterials at U of T (for a variety of complicated reasons), but always preferred McMaster - I always felt truly a part of the university there, where the student voice was valued, and where young minds were inspired in a warm and caring environment. My experiences at McMaster will always be very much a part of who I am.
