MES President 2005-2006
BENGM 2006 – Mechanical Engineering & Management

I am currently completing my fifth year of Mechanical Engineering & Management and will be working in a management position at Labatt once I graduate. What attracted me to McMaster University was a combination of the benefits of a common first year and the management program. I was very indecisive about what field of engineering I wanted to get into, so the common first year was extremely useful. Even so, I still managed to switch programs once during my time here; I can only imagine how many times I might have transferred programs if I had had to choose in first year. The management option has given me many of the skills that I will need in my upcoming job and has presented me with many opportunities throughout my time here.

My involvement with the MES has allowed me to make many new friends and has helped to round out my experience here. Some of the most fun I have had here, as well as some of the biggest challenges I have faced, have been through the MES.

Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at McMaster University and have found the faculty to be very supportive of students and enthusiastic about what they do. I would strongly recommend this school to anyone interested in pursuing a career in engineering and will continue to promote it after I graduate.
