About Engineers

What do Engineers do?

Engineers are all about ideas and applying theory to solve real world problems. By solving these problems, engineers improve the world in which we live and work. Their work is very diverse, including office and laboratory work, manufacturing, mining and teaching. Job opportunities exist in these fields, in both large and small companies, in cities and remote areas. Engineers are involved in the design, development and manufacturing of water systems, chemical processes, mining methods, automobiles, aeronautics, structures, electrical and computer systems. Be it a spaceship, a roller coaster, an artificial leg or a bottle of shampoo, you can be sure that an engineer was involved. I think the real question is, what don't engineers do?

Our Mission

We hope that through this event:

  • We show female students that engineering is a suitable occupation for them as any other career.
  • We encourage female students to seek higher education and achievement in science, engineering and related fields.
  • We inform students about opportunities and contributions by women in these fields.
