About Danielle Zyngier:

Danielle Zyngier is an Optimization Specialist at Hatch with a Chemical Engineering background and over 11 years’ professional experience in Canada and Brazil. She has an extensive background in optimization, in particular in the area of Advanced Planning and Scheduling.

At Hatch, she contributes to the development and support of the Vista DSSTM suite of tools for long-term, short-term and near real-time operation of power generation systems. She also participates in the development of the HydroVantageTM asset management system for life cycle evaluation. Danielle previously worked at Honeywell Process Solutions on the development of Production Scheduler, a long-term planning and short-term scheduling tool for all process industries.

She has been a research associate at McMaster University (Canada), contributing to the management of the McMaster Advanced Control Consortium, and at COPPE/ Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil), where she conducted applied research in collaboration with Petrobras. At COPPE/UFRJ, she also supervised theses and independently designed and taught an undergraduate course on Logistics/ Planning and Scheduling Optimization.

Danielle has published several peer-reviewed academic papers and book chapters, and is the author of two US patents. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University, and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from UFRJ.
