Abstract:

In an increasingly competitive environment, coalescing around a distinct and unified position that aligns the University behind a strong shared sense of purpose will help to differentiate McMaster and capture what makes the University special. Discussions with the deans and other senior leaders over the last few months have led to a new, and meaningfully differentiated position for McMaster University: advancing human and societal health and well-being. President Patrick Deane will share the thinking behind McMaster’s new position and looks forward to hearing and discussing your questions and ideas. The goal of this event is to elicit open dialogue around the importance of this position, how it may shape the student learning experience and discuss the most tangible benefits it will bring for the Faculty of Engineering and University as a whole. Your contribution to this conversation will be invaluable.
